PAR Specialist

Role and Responsibilities

The PAR Specialist will ensure all clients/potential clients eligible for clinical services (Therapy, IOP, RMH, etc.) have appropriate Prior Authorization Requests completed and submitted timely and efficiently.  The primary PAR Specialist duties are as follows:

 

  • Complete PAR’s (Prior Authorization Requests) timely and efficiently for Therapeutic and RMH services (additional PAR’s for services as assigned)

  • Track submission dates, expiration dates and other pertinent timeframes to ensure no lapses or gaps occur in services

  • Communicate with service providers to ensure all necessary information/documentation has been received for submission

  • Communicate with stakeholders (Anthem Healthcare, Medicaid, Medicare, etc.), clinicians and staff to ensure coordination/authorization of services is attainable

  • Assist with appeals process as necessary

  • Track and complete re-authorizations for services  

  • Other duties as assigned

Behavioral Health Technician

Summary/Objective

The behavioral health specialist, as part of the primary care treatment team, identifies, triages and manages patients with medical and behavioral health problems within the primary care setting. In addition, the behavioral health specialist provides skill training through psychoeducation and patient education strategies and develops specific behavioral change plans for patients and behavioral health protocols for target populations.

Essential Functions

Work Environment

Well Care Services (WCS) is currently recruiting for a Clinical Mental Health Supervisor.

The Clinical Supervisor is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and coordinates day-to-day activities for the function of WCS.

The Clinical Supervisor provides direct administrative and clinical supervision to WCS therapeutic staff. The Clinical Supervisor will ensure close coordination and collaboration with the Case Management Department (CMD), Basic Skills Training (BST) and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) department, the Mobile Crisis Assessment Team (MCAT), and Well Care Services Psychiatric and Medical Department (PMD).

This position includes administrative duties associated with planning, hiring, and quality assurance/improvement.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the WCS leadership in planning, implementing and coordinating WCS existing integrated services and development of new integrated services.

Support and train WCS staff toward improved care standards and practice skills.

Assure compliance with all relevant contract and procedure requirements.

Teach and promote core WCS values, crisis intervention and de-escalation skills, and causes and effects of homelessness essential to ensure the safety of clients and staff.

Provide individual supervision and consultation for team members.

Conduct performance evaluations of clinical staff on scheduled basis and keep supporting documentation in confidential files.

Coordinate and participate in psychiatric consultation, clinical supervision, program meetings, and in-service training of WCS program staff; participate in clinical reviews and case conferences.

Coordinate and Oversee the schedule of WCS therapy department.

Supervise and review team clinical documentation to assure that team members maintain current and complete clinical records, and that records comply with the agency's clinical accountability policies and procedures, and local, state and federal requirements.

Identify need, and advocate for, modification to procedures.

Cooperate and problem solve with community providers and other relevant entities.

Participate in verbal de-escalation and physical interventions in emergent situations and be willing and able to assist other staff as needed to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Maintain a Quality Assurance (QA) program which continually assesses quality measures and seeks to improve services on an ongoing basis.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Current Nevada Licensure for Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Licensed Clinical

Professional Counselor (LCPC).

Master's degree in a Social Work, Family Therapy or Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Meet minimum criteria as a Mental Health Professional as defined by current MSM Chapter 400.

Pass a Nevada State Criminal background check.

Minimum of 2 years full time experience delivering direct mental health and case management services to severely mentally ill population in a community setting.

Possess the skills and attitude to provide sound clinical and administrative supervision.

Familiar with Recovery Principles, Crisis Intervention and Stabilization, Integrated Treatment of Co-occurring Disorders, Intensive Case Management, Illness Management, and relevant Evidenced based/Emerging best practices.

Knowledge of Harm Reduction strategies.

Strong working knowledge of DSM V.
